I agree as well, I like the basics.......But I have one concern. How are you going to tell who has "straight off the show room floor" from the one that has had some work done? If all the quads in the class were the same brand then one could see the difference. But other than that how do you say one bike can't be in the class? You can't say that I suspect you have work done so you can not run in the class to one racer because the quad is the faster on in that class. I understand what you are saying but how do we enforce them? Stock is a very gray area and should not be used as a rule unless it is followed by other obvious nouns....like stock: FRAME, EXHAUST, CARBURETOR.....then the judges have to be informed of what is stock for all bikes.....and I know that is way beyond my experience.....I wish it was as simple as saying stock and open but unfortunately it is much more complicated than that...
What I would like to see is someone make suggestions on how the classes need to be broke down. I think that's the biggest question that I have and seems to be the biggest issue we have that needs worked out. Should they be 100cc increments per class? Then what about 2 stroke against 4 stroke? Then what about stock frame against custom frame, Nitrous against reg gasoline? Wheelie bars verses no wheelie bars? Just looking for someone to give us some help on figuring this one out.
Thanks for all the suggestions.....and keep them coming, we need to here form all of you on this!

If everyone would /could be honest about there build it would be easyer. As far as stock you been doing this long enough to tell when its a stock runner or somthing thats been wrenched on...Wheelie bars are for the safety part first performance second weve had enough accidents

how about Bracket racing ?Kinda like heads up only problem will be weedin out the sandbaggers, not u George the other ones. But once you get them straight (if any) It will be easyer than seting your time for non breakouts .Worth a shot anyway since I really dislike ET,makes my head hurt

Take at look at these rules. www.bbdrdirtdrags.com/files/2010_Rules.pdfAt our local track we have 37 different classes that they run. We have had over 250 entries in one night. We are running tomorrow and I will see if I can get a breakdown of the classes for ya. We are having a hard time with the stock and modified thing ourselves here. As it stands right now if you put a slipon or air filter you are modified. Frame and swingarm aren't even mention in tech but NO Wheelie Bars. I think that sucks is is part of the reason we no longer race the big classes. Also they won't allow any nitrous but if you have the money and want to turbo a thundercat you can. This event is put on by a local fire company and runs 9 times a year. I have been told by other members that this is there biggest money maker that the fd dose all year. But they do all this with NO WRITTEN RULES!!!!! Its all on how they feel about you at tech inspection if you can run and what they will allow. If you happen to be a person with very deep pockets in the community you can do what ever you want while the other not so fortunate people can't use cheap hp as they say. Sorry for the rant. They change the classes and rules half way through this year and the class that I built my son's bike for is no longer. Been racing it for 3 yrs and now they have a problem with it when I point out that there is a larger cc bike in the class than the rules allow so rather than move him to the next class the just bump up the cc on this class in the middle of the year. Isn't bracket racing done with dial in times and if you run faster than you dial you loose Has a staggered start so that if both bikes run there exact dial in they will both cross the finish line at the same time.

We raced tonight and I talked to the officials and they are going to email me a copy of the class breakdown. I will post it for you when I get it.

Heads up is great for those who have money, and yes at first it would be good, but sooner or later you are going to start losing those who get tired of getting beat every week and can not afford to go bigger. If we are going to go heads up, then at least let's do index to make the classes more equal, we need to build this racing event if it is going to survive and be able to do the things that everyone is wanting done.
The other idea is to do ET racing another year and add in a couple of heads up open classes for those that want heads up. We could break down the ET classes a little more and have maybe three mini classes and three or four bigger classes as well as the one or two open heads up classes (8 or 9 total classes).

Mason dixon fair grounds in Delta Pa. We are about 2 1/2 hrs south of vfj. The only rules here are no bars no nitrous and any mod at all will put you in the mod class. You are welcome to come we have 2 more this year. Oct 16 and Nov 20 we are going to hit a few out west of us this year also down by madness. waren is running 3 more times this year and might try to go to hillbilly but not sure yet.

If we cant figure out a way to do it let sell the lights and every one can go race were every they like.with the rules they like .there is Racine all around us you just have to travel to where u like and fit in best.everyone will realize that you cant please everyone and we cant let who ever the loudest make the rules for them. thats just my 2 cent take it or leave it but it not worth arguing about or losing friend over.

I think any racing you do. money is a good thing to have. if you go heads up there going to CRY. if you go et there going to CRY.. if you go index there gonna CRY..
